Good Morning
It’s been nearly nine months since I endured a significant mishap to my right foot.
Recovery has been prolonged, and along the way, additional complications occurred.
We must always care for our health, no matter how small the issue may appear.
This past August, my right foot succumbed to gout, and the pain intensified. A few days later, a small blister appeared on the side of my foot, and like most people, I ignored the small blister. The second morning my toes were bright red, and I visited urgent care and began antibiotics. The antibiotics improved my condition for a short time, and a few mornings later, I awoke with intense pain, but this time my entire foot and calf were swollen. My foot was purple and red streaks traveled up my leg. The ER stated my temperature was 104 degrees.
Once at the emergency room, I was immediately taken to an operating room where the ER doctor claimed he had to amputate my right foot to save my life.
Even during my immense pain and emergency, I maintained logical sense and asked the doctor why he had to amputate my right foot without drawing blood to determine other medical factors; he insisted on amputation, and I fired him on the spot.
I’m told I passed out only moments after I fired the doctor, and had I not fired the doctor before passing out, they would have taken my right foot and likely my right leg just below the knee.
I awakened a few days later and was told a new doctor had taken over my medical care. He began aggressive antibiotic treatment only moments after I fired the first doctor. Instead of amputation, he removed an infected bone, and a large incision was required across the entire width of the bottom of my foot.
I’ve lost the use of my fourth and fifth toe. The surgical incision has almost healed, and nearly a month ago, I discontinued using a knee scooter.
Yesterday afternoon the surgeon suggested that in six weeks, I may be able to discontinue a surgical boot.
It’s doubtful I can return to wearing a typical dress and casual shoes, but that’s ok.
My recovery has been slow and unpredictable, and I wanted each of my subscribers to my newsletter to know that I’m thankful for the many private emails sent and to let my subscribers know that more frequent posts will grace your inbox beginning today.
It’s essential to note had I not followed my gut instinct to fire the ER doctor, my right foot would have been amputated, and I was only moments away from amputation. I encourage my readers to use your God Given Discernment at all times.
The beautiful little ducklings were reminiscent of my return to promoting Life, Liberty, and Freedom.
