Has Gun Control Lowered Crime and Murder in Democrat Cities?
Can any Democrat provide the names of ten cities located in the USA whereas GUN Control was passed resulting in lower crime, murder, and rape?
Question the Occasional Series: Certainly, a cursory search for data can easily answer the important question posted. We’ve witnessed the failed policies of the cancel culture alter police departments around the USA and watched a crime wave multiply without basic police activities.

Guns are very personally to me. When I was a young boy my brother and I used air pellet rifles and our neighbors used to plink using 22-short, 22-Long, and 22-Magum. While attending Blacksburg Middle School, some kids brought their rifles and locked them inside their own hall lockers and passed the bullets to the principal’s office. Later, when attending Blacksburg High School, many of my classmates had rifle racks located in the back window of their trucks, and some were loaded.
When I was ten years old, my father committed suicide using a shotgun. I never placed fault with the gun for my father suicide, but rather my father’s own personal issues by which he was led to a desperate act.
Blacksburg, Virginia is my hometown. It is also the hometown for Virginia Tech. Many reading this may recall the tragic day we lost 33 souls, including the gunman in the campus shooting. The VT shooting occurred on April 16, 2007. My mother was working on campus the same day and the police refused to allow me to get to my mother. Many oddities remain such as why did it took so long for police to act. We were told the FBI field office asked the local police to stand down and their office is approximately 45 minutes away from the scene of the crime. Other oddities were a firsthand report by a first responder who told me he saw chains round the door handle where the primary shooting occurred. Another oddity places the exact same scenario in the form of a drill prior to the shooting. To many coincidences to ignore. I’m reminded of these points after the recent school shooting in Texas. Again, I never placed blame on a gun but rather the mentally ill person who shot and killed so many.
The loss of our children is atrocious and on May 24, 2022, the recent mass shooting occurred. May we shower our comfort and love to the families who suffer from great loss. I do understand the loss and I personally find it difficult to write about this topic.
Our first objective is to show our care, love, and kindness to those who suffer loss and the time for grandstanding via political topics should be quieted. This is not a time to spout gun control ideas.
Prior to the recent shooting, I was placed in a position whereas carrying a gun most likely saved my life. My Smith & Wesson 9mm was loaded and ready for protection. Had I not carried the gun in unobstructed view of my SUV and been ready for action, I may not be drafting this article.
The public news cycles can easily confirm the countless times a person’s life was saved by personal protection and the lives saved far outweigh lives lost during mass shootings.
Many of our friends and neighbors may support gun control yet fail to consider one important question: Has Gun Control in Democrat controlled states or cities reduced crime, murder and rape?
